- In 2011, I created an interactive geographic information system map (using ArcGIS) of sexually transmitted disease cases in North Carolina. This map was created to help visualize the number and spatial distribution of medical and support services for people living with HIV and aids. The map, viewable in Google Earth, was developed to serve as a tool for stakeholders, local and state decision makers to better understand the geographical barriers to care and treatment. Dr. Melissa J. Haithcox-Dennis, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Education and Promotion at East Carolina University was accepted into the 2011 United States Conference on AIDS in Chicago, Illinois and presented the data that I took a leading role in helping visualize and compile.
- Volunteered my web and graphic design services for the non-profit organization ENC Stop Human Trafficking Now. All work was provided to Pamela Strickland.
Interests and Activities
I have general skills and knowledge in computer technology. This includes hardware and software. I enjoy creative writing. I have been published in The Daily Reflector (local newspaper in Greenville, NC) and was the Opinion Editor of my high school (J.H. Rose) newspaper. Automotive detailing: scratch repair & headlight restoration. I also enjoy playing guitar, basketball, tennis and golf.
